For this purpose, German companies should be aware of their brand’s previous territorial spheres of activity, even before their initial market presence in the People’s Republic of China. It should also be clear from the very start which products will be placed on the Chinese market. Because it is not just the brand that must be protected, but also, e.g. product names with brand identity.
